M’sian Muslim views on Gaza

As for the this issue, please refer to my previous posting (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/itunalily2/20121117). I wonder if these groups are related with the Hamas-Muslim Brotherhood network. (Lily)

Israeli Invasion of Gaza, 16 November 2012

The serial military incursions of Israel on the autonomous Gaza Strip over the recent few weeks have now escalated into a virtual invasion with incessant bombings from both the air and sea. The present large scale bombardment of Gaza over the past 24 hours is very reminiscent of the genocidal massacre committed by the Israeli military in Operation Cast Lead in December 2008.
The present carnage known as Operation Pillar of Defense is yet another display of Israel’s contempt for International Law and its ruthless defiance of accepted norms of co-existence both in times of peace and war. It has been unrelenting in its militaristic occupation mode, expanding its illegitimate settlements in the West bank, blockade of the Gaza Strip and now embarking on mass killings of innocent civilians and wanton destruction of property in Operation Pillar of Defense.
Independent eye witness accounts and broadcasts from within Gaza has authenticated the fatalities, severe bodily injuries inflicted on ordinary Gazans and the damages to civilian properties. Thus dispelling the many news distortions from partisan Zionist media houses.
The United Nations, European Union and other world power brokers need to act fast and rein in the heinous acts of Israel or will soon become abject Zionist stooges like some, allowing it with impunity to do as it pleases in the Middle East and beyond.
The spirit of the “Arab Spring” of 2011 which swept across the Middle East, overthrowing regimes complicit with Israel’s policies and supported by some super powers, should be universally unified and enhanced to demonstrate their support for Palestinian rights. And like “New Egypt” recall their ambassadors and initiate the expulsion of Israeli diplomats from their respective countries.
The defence of Gaza and ultimately the end of the occupation in Palestine is duty bound upon all peace loving and free people of the world and VPM calls upon nations, institutions and individuals to actively participate in this humanitarian duty. Nelson Mandela sums it well when he said, “Palestine is the worst moral crisis of our times”. Thus making it a humanitarian crisis; a colossal failure of our collective humanity.
VPM in solidarity with civil society throughout the peaceful world denounces in no uncertain terms the Israeli aggression in Gaza. VPM calls for an immediate cessation of the air strikes and bombardment and an end to the siege of Gaza.
We emphatise with the misfortune that has befallen the ordinary people of Gaza, the loss of human lives, property and their basic human right to peace, freedom and justice. We nonetheless salute the brave Palestinians who have not wavered in their resolve to acquire what is rightfully theirs since the annexation of their lands in 1948.

Group protests against Israeli raids on Gaza at US Embassy, 17 November 2012
KUALA LUMPUR: A group of people staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the United States' embassy to protest Israel's recent military attacks against civilians in Gaza.
The group included members from the Pertubuhan Ikram Malaysia (Ikram), Pertubuhan Himpunan Lepasan Institusi Pendidikan Malaysia and Aqsa Syarif and the public.
Marching from the Tabung Haji building to the embassy, they assembled at 1.50pm for about 40 minutes outside the embassy, carrying banners and posters declaring “End Gaza Killing”, “Boycott Goods of Israel and Allies” and “Crush Israel”.
Ikram deputy president Dr Mohamed Hatta Shaharom said the gathering was to protest against the recent Israeli military raids on Gaza.
The Israeli air raids in Gaza over the past two days had taken the lives of 21 Palestinians, including six children and a pregnant woman.
Meanwhile, in Bangi, Islamic Relief Malaysia urged Malaysians to support the Gaza Emergency Medical Aid Fund set up to channel medical assistance directly to the victims of the Israeli military raids.
Its country director Zairulshahfuddin Zainal Abidin said the Islamic Relief network aimed to collect some US$1mil (about RM3.07mil) worldwide to provide medical and other supplies for hospitals in Gaza.
Donations can be sent in the name of “Islamic Relief Malaysia” to the Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) account number 1202 90100 6564 3, Malayan Banking Berhad (MBB) account number 5621 4270 8704 or the CIMB Bank account number 1259 0000 804 058.
In a related development, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has received a telephone call from Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to discuss the latest Israeli military assaults and air strikes in Gaza.
In the 15-minute conversation yesterday, both of them expressed their desire to work closely to end the current violence in Gaza, said a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
Both countries also agreed to get international power brokers to influence Israel to stop its military aggression, it said.
Najib and Morsi also urged Hamas to refrain from any action that would further escalate the conflict. - Bernama

CNN Whitewashes Hamas、18 November 2012
A "feature" about Hamas posted on the CNN website yesterday whitewashes the terrorist group by suggesting the group's charter has been replaced or amended, by ignoring the group's anti-Semitism, and by cherry-picking and misrepresenting statements made by the organization.
The piece, "Q&A: What is Hamas?" by Bryony Jones, inexplicably refers to Hamas's founding charter in the past tense, clearly suggesting that it is obsolete, and implies that Hamas leader Khaled Meshal "supports" a two state solution:
What are its aims?

Its original manifesto advocated the destruction of the state of Israel, and called for the raising of "the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine."

Current Hamas president Khaled Meshaal has previously said the group would support a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders (prior to the Six-Day War, during which Israeli troops occupied Gaza) , with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Again later, CNN states that "the founding charter of Hamas, published in 1988, called for jihad...."
So it would seem, according to the article, that Hamas's new manifesto does not call for the destruction of Israel. Except there is no new manifesto. Hamas has not renounced or amended its founding charter. If some apologists for the group have sought to cast the charter as a relic from the past, though, one can understand why. The document is replete with vile anti-Semitism ― something CNN's feature outrageously conceals. The charter calls on Muslims to "fight the Jews and kill them," blames Jews for the two world wars, and approvingly cites The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the infamous anti-Semitic forgery.
Nor is Hamas's anti-Semitism limited to its charter. Hamas officials on Hamas television continue to call for the destruction of the Jews, its representatives deny the Holocaust, and indoctrinates Palestinian children to hate.
Finally, Jones' claim notwithstanding, Hamas makes clear that it does not "support" a Palestinian state that would exist alongside Israel. Last May, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said, "We must live up to our motto.. .which says, we will not recognize Israel." He previously said that "we will never, we will never, we will never recognize Israel." Mahmoud Zahar recently asserted that “the expulsion will come, Allah willing, from Palestine, from the entire territory of Palestine, that the Jews “have no place among us…and no future among the nations,” and that they are "about to disappear." And Meshal, whom CNN cites as supporting a Palestinian state that does not include Israel, told the Al Hayat newspaper that "Hamas' position is clear and it is non-recognition [of Israel." When asked specifically if Hamas "will not oppose" a decision leading to a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders that recognizes Israel, he responded, "That is not what I said."
